Special Itineraries

The following choices are available to you if you purchase Package Option 4: Theme Package.

All the Glamour

Everyone has their fantasy version of Paris. I can plan you a trip focused on dazzling locations, famous sites, Instagram-able photo opportunities, chic shopping, and beautiful restaurants, to immerse you in the dream you have had of Paris for years.

Authentic Local Life

You have been to Paris before, and you don’t need to see the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe again. Instead, this trip has only minimal tourist sites, and is instead focused on places frequented by locals, to give you as genuinely a Parisian experience as a tourist can have.

Foodie Focus

You dream of gorgeous pastries, traditional French cuisine, the freshest produce, legendary French cheeses, and the best breads in the world. I can plan a trip focused on incredible restaurants, cafés, bistros, brasseries, bouillons, salóns de té, bakeries, pastry stores, cheese shops, pop-up produce markets, and ancient market streets.

A Romantic Getaway

Paris is the city of love. I am happy to plan a romantic getaway (for straight or queer folks), to celebrate an anniversary, a honeymoon, a marriage proposal, or simply a lovers’ dreamy escape from normal life.

Literary Lights

This trip highlights the rich intellectual history of the city, taking you to all the famous cafés, neighborhoods, schools, and restaurants frequented by literary giants like James Baldwin, Honoré de Balzac, Julia Child, Colette, Simone de Beauvoir, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Victor Hugo, Henry James, Jean-Paul Sartre, Gertrude Stein, Voltaire, Richard Wright, Emile Zola, etc.

Going Goth

Of course, this package includes the famous Paris catacombs, but there is also much more Goth to be found in Paris. I can plan a trip for you that highlights the famous cemeteries, creepy medical museums, heavy metal bars, goth parties, and more.

Movie Magic

From Hitchcock to the Hunchback, from Amelie to Emily, from Godard to Audrey Hepburn, from Truffaut to Disney, and from the Phantom to the Moulin Rouge -- Paris is at the center of many of your favorite celluloid memories. For the cinephiles out there, this trip highlights some of the legendary locations used in famous American and French movies.

Black Life

Josephine Baker, James Baldwin, W.E.B. Du Bois, Duke Ellington, Langston Hughes, Charlie Parker, Nina Simone, Richard Wright, and others -- for many decades, iconic Black writers, performers, and thinkers have chosen to start their lives over in Paris. Learn about famous American ex-pats during this trip, focused on African-American history in Paris. In addition, it also highlights current Black neighborhoods, restaurants, and culture.

LGBTQ Life

Paris is home to vibrant, diverse, and beautiful lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities. I can plan for you an exciting trip incorporating queer neighborhoods and shops, clubs and bars, restaurants and cafés, and politics and culture.

Bringing The Kids

Whether they are preschool, grade school, or teens, there is plenty to do in Paris for young people. Let me help you plan a trip that both you and your kids will enjoy. I know what activities and sights appeal to young people, which restaurants are kid-friendly, where the best parks are, and which stores sell the things your kids are interested in.

Shop Till You Drop

As the fashion and style capital of the world, there is more shopping to be done here than any one person could ever hope to do. You can indulge in luxury at the high-end shopping streets, or find some treasures at the best flea markets in the world, or experience the five grand department stores. But also, every neighborhood has countless charming boutiques, antique or thrift shops, and bespoke designers. Whether you are in the market for chic clothing, beautiful housewares, elegant perfumes, iconic cooking supplies, stunning artwork, or fine jewelry, I can plan the perfect trip for you.

Focus on Art

Legendary artists have come from all over the world to paint (or sculpt or draw or photograph) in Paris. This trip prioritizes spending time at art museums (the major institutions and the smaller local gems) to see their world-famous work. It also introduces you to the work of current artists in art galleries, weekend art festivals, and local street art.

Day Tripping

If you are in Paris for a long visit, then you might want to do a day trip or two outside of the city. I can help you choose and plan your visits to any of these gorgeous destinations: the opulent palace of Versailles, wine-tasting in Reim, the fairytale châteaux of the Loire Valley, the tidal island monastery of Mont Saint-Michel, Monet’s famous water lilies in Giverny, or the storybook architecture of Strasbourg.

Social Justice Journey

From the French Revolution and the Paris Commune to contemporary movements focused on labor rights, refugee policies, or the ecological crisis, Paris has long been a center of protest, activism, and social policy change. This trip highlights this long, fascinating history.
